Position Overview
The SAP Data Analyst, working under the supervision of the VP of IT, will be responsible for leading data preparation, cleanup, and transfer of data from our existing ERP system to our SAP S4 HANA implementation.  Creating schemas from existing data to the new ERP structure will be a key activity of this role.  Additionally, working with the various functions to verify data, propose new structures and be involved in the load and testing of transported data is a critical activity for the Data Analyst.  This role will be vital in providing feedback and guidance to our integration partners during our migration.  Post Go Live, the role will continue to manage and own ERP data and requests from the business.  Additional activities will be in developing delivery of important data to the business through other tolls such as PowerBI.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Key member of system implementation teams (ERP, Fixed Asset, Document Retention, etc.)
  • Lead the ETL (export, transform and load) portions of ERP migration.
  • Work closely with stakeholders from various departments to understand their business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for ERP system.
  • Direct and actively participate in activity workstreams.
  • Analyze the business domain, document processes and systems and outline business requirements.
  • Gather extracts from existing Oracle based ERP system.
  • Analyze data extract to:
    • Understand what parts of extracts need to be prepared and cleaned for import into new environment.
    • Develop system data schemas to data support import processes.
  • Map out and develop necessary schemas to support development of data extract structure to be imported into ERP environment.
  • Engage with userbase to lead data review and cleanup activities.
Skills and Experience:
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and analyze their requirements for the project and systems. Involves conducting interviews, workshops and analyzing existing business processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Business Process Modeling: Creating visual representations, process flows and diagrams to illustrate current and future state business processes.  Identify areas of optimization and define system requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors.
  • Liaison: Act as a liaison between different functions and teams, ensuring clear communication, manage expectations and facilitate consensus on project deliverables.
  • Change Management: Assist with change management efforts by analyzing the impact of proposed system changes on business processes, training needs and organizational structure. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop change management strategies and communication plans to facilitate transitions.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing: Collaborate with testing teams to define test plans, scenarios and test cases based on the documented requirements. Review and validate test results to ensure the solution meets business needs and performs as expected.

  • Strong time management and organization skills with ability to multitask and prioritize.

Skills/Education Preferred:
  • Intermediate to Advanced abilities in SQL, Access and Excel
  • Understanding of data profiling and analysis concepts, including data anomalies, data mapping activities
  • Design and develop reliable, scalable, and testable applications, ETL (Extract,             Transform and Load) tools, scheduled jobs and database components
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts
  • Adept at creating queries.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Applied Statistics, or closely related degree.
